Phu Quoc Motorbike Route
Day 1: Duong Dong – Night Market – Long Beach
Distance: 15–20 km
Travel time: 30–40 minutes
Start your route in Duong Dong, the island's main town. Ride along the coast to Long Beach: a smooth road with great sea views and palm trees. In the evening, head to the Phu Quoc Night Market for dinner, fresh seafood and souvenirs. This is an ideal route for your first look at the island.
Day 2: Duong Dong – Suoi Tranh Waterfall – Pepper Farms
Distance: 25–30 km
Travel time: 45–60 minutes
Head inland to Suoi Tranh Waterfall, one of the most accessible and scenic waterfalls on Phu Quoc. Next, the route passes pepper farms, where you can see how the island's famous Phu Quoc pepper is grown and buy spices straight from the farmers.
Day 3: Duong Dong – Ham Ninh – East Coast
Distance: 30–35 km
Travel time: 50–60 minutes
In the morning, ride towards the Ham Ninh fishing village. The road is quiet, with sea views and mangroves. In the village, try fresh seafood and walk along the long pier. The east coast is less touristy, making it a great place for a relaxed ride and photos.
Day 4: Duong Dong – Hon Thom Cable Car – South Beaches
Distance: 40–45 km
Travel time: 1–1.5 hours
Head south to the Hon Thom cable car station, home to the longest cable car over the sea in the world. Along the way, you'll pass beautiful views, bays and viewpoints. After the ride, stop at the southern beaches, which are less crowded and great for swimming.
Day 5: Duong Dong – Phu Quoc National Park – Bai Thom Beach
Distance: 35–40 km
Travel time: 1–1.5 hours
The final route runs through Phu Quoc National Park: green jungle, hills and quiet. The road is narrow in places, but scenic. To finish, ride to Bai Thom Beach in the north of the island: wild nature, very few tourists and a real sense of adventure.

Popular questions about renting a bike in Phu Quoc
Do you need a license to rent a bike in Phu Quoc?
Officially, riding a motorbike in Vietnam requires an international driving permit, category A. In practice, many tourists rent bikes without a license, but in a police check or an accident this can lead to a fine and insurance problems. For a safe ride, we recommend carrying an international permit.
Does the police check licenses in Phu Quoc?
Police checks in Phu Quoc are less frequent than in tourist capitals, but they do happen, especially in the town center, along the waterfront and near bridges. Officers sometimes stop riders at random, more often for traffic violations. It's always best to carry your license, a copy of your passport and the rental agreement.
Which bike is best for beginners?
Beginners are better off choosing automatic scooters of 110–125 cc. These models are easy to handle, fuel-efficient and well suited to the city. They are lighter, more stable and easier to park.
How much does it cost to rent a bike in Phu Quoc?
The average rental price is 120,000–250,000 VND per day, depending on the model and rental period. Weekly and monthly rentals usually come with discounts. Newer models and higher-powered bikes cost more.
Is it safe to ride a motorbike in Phu Quoc?
Phu Quoc is considered one of the most comfortable islands in Vietnam for riding a motorbike: traffic here is calmer than in big cities. The main thing is to wear a helmet, keep to the speed limit and stay alert on dirt roads and in the rain.
What should I check before renting a bike?
Before you set off, be sure to check:
— brakes and lights,
— tire condition,
— indicators and horn,
— fuel level,
— helmets provided.
It's also a good idea to photograph the bike from all sides to avoid disputes when you return it.
Where can I refuel and what fuel do I need?
Phu Quoc has official Petrolimex stations as well as small local fuel stops. Most scooters run on RON 92 or RON 95 petrol. Bottled fuel is commonly used, but it's better to choose trusted places.
How is parking in Phu Quoc?
Parking on the island is mostly free. Beaches, cafes and hotels usually have space for bikes. In tourist areas you may be asked for a small fee of 5,000–10,000 VND.
