What to Know Before You Travel to Cambodia
Visa Validity
The tourist e-Visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue, but you can stay in the country for up to 30 days.
Migration Card
All foreign nationals must complete the electronic migration card (e-Arrival Form) within 7 days of arrival.
Proof of Travel
To apply for a visa, you need to provide a hotel booking or residential address, plus a return ticket.
Visa Fee Payment
The visa fee is 30$. Payment is made by bank card online. Keep the receipt, as it may be requested on arrival.
Visa Extension
If you want to stay longer, you can extend your tourist visa by another 30 days at a local immigration office. Overstaying by even 1 day leads to a fine and an entry ban in the future.
Entry Points
You can only enter through designated border checkpoints: the international airports of Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and land crossings from Thailand and Vietnam.
Don't Miss Your Visa Deadline
In Cambodia, overstaying your visa by more than 1 day means a fine of 10 $ per day over the limit.
If you stay longer, you may be refused entry on your next visit. Plan your departure in advance and keep a copy of your visa with you until you fly out.
Mistakes That Lead to Visa Refusal
Mistake in Passport Details
Even one extra letter or a wrong date will void your application. Double-check everything before submitting the form.
Blurry or Unsuitable Photo
The photo must have a white background, with no glasses or shadows. Otherwise, your application may be rejected without a refund.
Applying Through Third-Party Websites
Use only the official portal evisa.gov.kh. Middlemen often charge extra fees and cannot guarantee results.
No Hotel Booking or Flight Tickets
These documents are not always required, but they improve your chances of approval. It is best to attach proof.
Missing the Entry Deadline
You must enter within 90 days of the visa being issued, otherwise it is cancelled automatically.
