«Golden Circle of Sri Lanka»
Key route locations:
- Breakfast with elephants
- Lion Rock Sigiriya
- Sigiriya village
- Ox cart ride
- Catamaran safari
- Golden Temple of Dambulla (exterior view)
- Hindu temple
- Dinner
On the first day, your journey starts with a transfer from your hotel. The morning is especially vivid, as the first stop is an elephant sanctuary. Here you can watch these magnificent animals, see them being fed and bathed in the river. Breakfast here becomes an unforgettable experience, right beside the elephants in their natural habitat. After breakfast, you can pay an extra 15 USD to bathe with the elephants and ride them.
Next, the road takes you to one of the island's landmarks, Sigiriya, also known as the Lion Rock. The climb takes about an hour, and at the top you will be rewarded with stunning views of the tropical jungle and nearby villages. For those who prefer a gentler route, there is an alternative: a hike up the neighbouring Pidurangala rock, which offers a panoramic view of Sigiriya itself and the sunset sky. After the active part of the route, it's time to get to know traditional village life. In Sigiriya village, you can take a ride in an ox cart, a traditional form of transport, and enjoy a short catamaran safari on the river.
The day ends with dinner and rest at one of the comfortable hotels, such as Fresco Water Villa, Senani Hotel or others, where everything is set up for relaxation after a full day. You can look forward to a cosy atmosphere, delicious local dishes and time to recharge before the next stage of your trip.
Key route locations:
- Kandy City
- Royal Botanical Garden
- Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
- Ambuluwawa Tower
- Ceylon Tea Factory
- Gem Factory
On the second day you'll travel to Kandy, a city often called the spiritual and cultural heart of Sri Lanka. The first stop is the Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya. You'll walk along the famous Royal Palm Avenue, see an orchid collection, and visit nearby spice and medicinal plant gardens.
Next, the route leads to the heart of Buddhist Sri Lanka, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. It holds a relic of worldwide significance: a tooth of the Buddha Shakyamuni. The next stop is the unusual Ambuluwawa Tower, rising on a hill near Kandy. This unique building combines elements of several religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Christianity. Climbing to the top is an adventure. The stairs are narrow and winding, but the effort is rewarded with stunning views. After this full programme, you'll discover traditional Sri Lankan crafts with a visit to a Ceylon tea factory and a gem factory.
The day ends with dinner in a restaurant serving local cuisine and a night in one of the hotels in the hills. You can choose stays with great views, such as Ramboda Falls Hotel with a view of the waterfall, or Tea Bush Hotel, surrounded by tea plantations. An evening in the mountains brings calm and quiet after a busy day.
Key route locations:
- Nine Arch Bridge
- Train ride
- Little Adam's Peak
- Ravana Falls
The third day starts with a drive to the charming town of Ella, the heart of the Sri Lankan hill country. The first stop is the famous Nine Arch Bridge, one of the country's best-known architectural landmarks. You can watch a train slowly cross the bridge against a backdrop of emerald hills. It's a great spot for photos, and the pictures you take here look like postcards.
Next, the route leads up Little Adam's Peak. The climb is easy and accessible, so it suits travelers of any age. From the top you'll see breathtaking views of the jungle, mountain ranges and valleys wrapped in morning mist. The next stop is the powerful Ravana Falls, which drops over sheer cliffs.
The day wraps up with a visit to scenic spots near Ella, where you can watch monkeys in their natural habitat. Feeding the animals is a heartwarming and fun moment that brings smiles and a real connection with nature. In the evening, the group returns to the hotels.

We got back yesterday from a two-day tour with an overnight stay at Elephant Bay Hotel and the climb up Sigiriya (choose this rock for the climb). It was AMAZING!!!! WONDERFUL!!! The best tour!!! Our guide Denis (Dinesh) is a genius. He kept us laughing the whole way, told us the history of Sri Lanka, answered all our questions, shared lots of interesting facts and helped us with photos and videos! All the locations on the tour were chosen very well, and everything felt heartfelt! Special thanks to our driver Shalinda, who drove us carefully and with style! Emotions enough for a year, maybe for a lifetime! These two days felt like we had travelled for a week through different countries, with different climates, nature and architecture, all in one place on a small island, Sri Lanka.

We were thrilled with the Heart of Sri Lanka tour! It was a beautifully organized trip. We saw an incredible number of sights and really immersed ourselves in the atmosphere of this amazing country. Special thanks for helping with the most important moment of our trip: a marriage proposal at the top of Sigiriya. Help choosing the perfect moment and place among the wonders of the world made the day truly unforgettable. A special part was the night at Mountain Heavens hotel. In the morning, stepping out onto the balcony and seeing elephants walking around was wonderful! The main thing that made the trip perfect was our guide Yasir, the soul of the tour. He told us about every sight with great charm and knew the best angles for photos, and he anticipated our wishes. His care, attentiveness and great sense of humour created a truly friendly and comfortable atmosphere. We felt completely safe and as if we were travelling with an old friend. Thank you to Yasir and the whole team! We will definitely recommend you to our friends!

Sharing our impressions on the way home from the wonderful two-day tour "Heart of the Island Sri Lanka"! Other reviews have already said everything about the tour itself, so we would like to describe the impressions we got thanks to our guide Yasir and our driver Usama. A few words about the road: the car was comfortable and new, the air conditioning saved us the whole way, and despite the winding mountain roads, the driver followed all the traffic rules like a European driver. But of course, a special thank you to Yasir. He helped us with every little question along the way. He is very caring and attentive. When someone tried to sell us something expensive, he took us to another place where the same thing was cheaper. At the tea factory, during the tasting, we were only offered one type of tea. Yasir stood up for us, and in the end we got to try all the varieties. On the way, he showed us many inexpensive places where we could get tasty food and fruit. Yasir also turned out to be a very interesting person. We chatted about the culture of his country and compared it with ours for both days. His Russian is excellent, he is a deeply knowledgeable and well-read man, and he is also a polyglot. He even gets our memes! To our surprise, Yasir changed up our programme. At the end of the second day we managed to visit a village where we were shown traditional life and customs, and we were fed traditional food and sweets. We even got to crack a coconut 🥥 And it would be a sin not to mention that Yasir is a professional photographer. In fact, you can see his photos in this message. We are just pulling up to our villa now to rest after such an intense and emotional programme. Thank you very much to the organizers, Yasir, Usama and the local people of Sri Lanka!
