"Golden Ring of Sri Lanka"
Key route locations:
- Breakfast with elephants
- Sigiriya Lion Rock
- Sigiriya Village
- Ox-Cart Ride
- Catamaran Safari
- Golden Dambulla Temple (exterior view)
- Hindu Temple
- Dinner
On the first day of the tour, your journey begins with a comfortable transfer from your hotel. The morning promises to be especially memorable: the first stop is an elephant orphanage, where you can watch these magnificent animals, see them being fed and bathed in the river. Breakfast here has an unusual feel, right next to the elephants in their natural habitat. For an extra fee (20 USD), you can bathe with the elephants and even ride them.
Next, the route leads to one of the island's most iconic sights, Sigiriya Rock, known as Lion Rock. The climb to the top takes about an hour, and the effort is well worth it: at the summit, you'll enjoy breathtaking views over the jungle and the surroundings. As an alternative, you can climb Pidurangala, a route with a stunning panorama of Sigiriya that looks especially beautiful at sunset.
After the active part of the programme, you'll immerse yourself in traditional village life. In the Sigiriya area, you'll take a ride in an ox cart , an old-fashioned form of transport, and head out on a short catamaran safari, enjoying the peace of nature.
The day ends with dinner and a stay at one of the cosy hotels, such as Fresco Water Villa, Senani Hotel or similar. Here you'll find comfort, a pleasant atmosphere and local dishes, everything you need to relax and recharge before the next day of your journey.
Key route locations:
- Kandy
- Royal Botanical Garden
- Temple of the Tooth
- Ambuluwawa Tower
- Ceylon Tea Factory
- Gem Factory
On day two, you travel to Kandy, the spiritual and cultural heart of Sri Lanka. Your first stop is the Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya, one of the most scenic gardens on the island. You'll stroll along an avenue of royal palms, admire an orchid collection, and see spice and medicinal plant gardens.
Next, you visit the island's most sacred Buddhist site, the Temple of the Tooth, which houses a relic of global significance: the tooth of Buddha Shakyamuni. Then you head to Ambuluwawa Tower, set on a hill near Kandy. This unique structure brings together architectural elements from several religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Christianity. The climb to the top of the tower is a real challenge, but the reward is breathtaking panoramic views.
After a full morning, you'll learn about traditional Sri Lankan crafts on a visit to a Ceylon tea factory and a gem workshop.
The day ends with a dinner of local cuisine and a night at a hill country hotel. For your stay, we offer scenic options such as Ramboda Falls Hotel, with a view of the waterfall, or Tea Bush Hotel, surrounded by tea plantations. An evening in the mountains brings calm and peace after a busy day.
Key route locations:
- Nine Arch Bridge
- Train ride
- Little Adam's Peak
- Ravana Falls
On day three, you transfer to Ella, the heart of Sri Lanka's hill country. Your first stop is the Nine Arch Bridge, one of the country's most recognisable architectural landmarks. Here you can watch a train cross the bridge against a backdrop of green hills, making it a perfect spot for striking photos.
Next, you climb Little Adam's Peak. The trail is easy and accessible and suits travellers of all ages. From the top, you'll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the jungle, mountain ridges and valleys in the morning mist. The next stop is Ravana Falls, impressive for its power and natural beauty.
To finish the day, you'll visit scenic spots around Ella, where you can watch monkeys in their natural habitat. Feeding the animals is a warm and memorable moment. In the evening, you return to your hotel to rest.
