We got back yesterday from a two-day tour with an overnight stay at the Elephant Bay hotel and a climb up Sigiriya (choose this rock for the climb). It was AMAZING!!!! WONDERFUL!!! The best tour!!! Our guide Denis (Dinesh) was a genius: he kept us laughing the whole way, told us the history of Sri Lanka, answered all our questions, shared lots of interesting facts and helped with photos and videos! Every location on the tour was chosen very thoughtfully, and everything felt heartfelt! A special thank you to our driver Shalinda, who got us there safely and with a bit of a thrill! Memories for a year ahead, maybe for a lifetime! These two days felt like we had travelled for a week through different countries, with different climates, nature and architecture, all in one place on a small island, Sri Lanka.

Thrilled with the “Heart of Sri Lanka” tour! It was a beautifully organized trip. We saw an incredible number of sights and soaked up the atmosphere of this amazing country. A special thank you for helping us with the highlight of our trip: a marriage proposal at the top of Sigiriya! Your help choosing the perfect moment and place among one of the wonders of the world made the day truly unforgettable. A special mention goes to our night at Mountain Heavens hotel. Waking up, stepping onto the balcony and seeing elephants wandering below was wonderful! Most of all, what made the trip perfect was our guide Yasir, the soul of the trip :) He shared every sight with great charm, knew the best angles for photos and anticipated our wishes. His care, attentiveness and great sense of humour created a truly friendly and comfortable atmosphere. We felt completely safe, as if we were travelling with an old friend. Thank you to Yasir and the whole team! We will definitely recommend you to our friends!

Sharing our impressions on the way home from the two-day “Heart of the Island Sri Lanka” tour! Other reviews have already said everything about the tour itself, so we would like to describe the impressions we got thanks to our guide Yasir and driver Usama. A few words about the road: the car was comfortable and new, and the air conditioning saved us the whole way. Despite the winding mountain roads, the driver followed all the traffic rules, like a European driver. But a special thanks goes to Yasir. He helped us with every little question along the way. He is very caring and attentive. When someone tried to sell us something expensive, he took us to another place where the same thing was cheaper. At the tea factory, the tasting was supposed to include only one type of tea. Yasir stood up for us, and in the end we got to try all the varieties. On the way, he showed us many inexpensive places where we could get tasty food and fruit. Yasir is also a very interesting person. We chatted about his country’s culture and compared it with ours for both days. His language skills are excellent. He is deeply knowledgeable and speaks several languages. He even gets the memes :) To our surprise, Yasir changed up our programme. At the end of the second day, we had time to visit a village where we were shown traditional village life and customs, and we were treated to traditional food and sweets. We even got to crack a coconut 🥥 And we must mention that Yasir is a professional photographer. The photos in this message are his. We are now pulling up at our villa to rest after such a full and emotional programme. Many thanks to the organizers, Yasir, Usama and the local people of Sri Lanka!

How private tours in Sri Lanka are organized
Private tours in Sri Lanka give you a unique chance to explore the island at your own pace and with maximum comfort. Unlike standard group tours, where everything is planned in advance and limited by strict timings, private tours offer flexibility and a personal approach.
1. Personalized itinerary
Every route is designed around your interests and preferences. You choose which places you want to visit, whether ancient temples, tropical forests, beaches or local markets. Your wishes apply not only to the destinations but also to how much time you spend at each place and the pace of your trip. For example, if you are interested in culture and history, the tour will focus on historic monuments and temples. If you prefer nature, you can be taken along scenic trails or offered snorkeling in calm waters.
2. Private guide
An experienced guide will accompany you for the whole route and is always ready to answer your questions and share more about the places you visit. Your guide will be your companion not only for history, but also for local culture, food and traditions. With no other participants, you can ask any questions and receive full attention.
3. Comfort and convenience
Private tours are organized for maximum comfort. You will be picked up from and returned to a convenient place, travelling in a car with a driver. Your wishes on timing, stops and breaks are taken into account. On a private tour, you do not need to rush or fit in with a group schedule. You decide how your day will go.
4. Exclusive places
Private tours often include places that are not on standard routes. These may be little-known villages, remote beaches or meetings with local craftspeople. This way, you see Sri Lanka from an unusual side, visit places that mass tourists do not reach, and learn more about life on the island.
5. Unique experiences
Beyond the traditional sights, private tours can offer unique experiences, such as taking part in local festivals or events, tasting authentic dishes or even joining ceremonies that are off the mass tourism trail.
Our recommendations
Hotel lunch box
A hotel lunch box is a practical way to take food with you on tours and day trips.
Sun protection
Sun protection is essential on tours, as the tropical sun is strong even in the morning.
Comfortable shoes
Sneakers or light trekking sandals are the best choice for hills and trails in Sri Lanka.
Chargers
Keep chargers and a power bank within reach so your devices don’t let you down on the road.
Cash for personal spending
You can pay for big purchases by card, but it is best to pay for small expenses in cash.
Rain jacket
A compact rain jacket is handy for tours and walks through the jungle.

Sri Lanka private tours: frequently asked questions
How do private tours differ from group tours?
Private tours offer several advantages over group tours. First, a personalized approach: the route is fully tailored to your interests and pace. You get your own guide, ready to answer all your questions and adapt the tour to what you want. This means flexibility and the chance to change plans during the trip, which is almost impossible on group tours, where you follow a fixed schedule and must consider everyone's interests.
Can I change the route of a private tour on the spot?
One of the biggest advantages of a private tour is that you can change the route on the spot. If you suddenly want to spend more time somewhere or visit a new point of interest, you can easily discuss it with your guide. Route flexibility lets you get the most out of your trip and make it exactly the way you want.
How much does a private tour in Sri Lanka cost?
The cost of a private tour depends on several factors, including the length of the tour, the number of travelers, the places you visit and the services included. For an approximate price, contact our team or check the relevant travel platforms.
Are transfers and accommodation included in the tour price?
Transfers and accommodation are usually included in the price of multi-day private tours, but this can vary depending on the organizer and the specific tour. Be sure to check this when you book.
How safe is it to travel in Sri Lanka?
Sri Lanka is generally considered a safe destination for travel. However, as in any country, it is advisable to take the usual precautions, especially when visiting remote areas and travelling at night. Stay up to date with safety information and advice from local authorities and travel agencies.
