Whale Watching – Group Tour
Key route locations:
- Sea cruise in the ocean
- Chance to see whales and dolphins
Mirissa is one of the best spots in Sri Lanka to watch blue whales, sperm whales and dolphins from November to April. During this season, these giants migrate from the cold waters of the Indian Ocean to the warm waters around the island to feed.
The tour starts with a transfer from your hotel and lasts a few hours. The boat heads out to open sea, and the captain keeps a safe distance and follows the animals without disturbing them. Thanks to our captain's many years of experience, the chances of a sighting are high, but this is wild nature, so there are no guarantees. Our crew tracks signs and chooses the best course so you get the most out of the experience.

Whale Watching Tour on a Private Boat
Key route locations:
- A unique chance to see whales and dolphins
- Open ocean
Sunrise departure at 06:30 on your speedboat (up to 7 guests): calm water, soft light and a high chance of spotting whales and dolphins in their natural habitat. The captain takes care to keep a respectful distance from nature, and the route adapts to the weather and migration. On board: light breakfast, peace and quiet, and horizons that change before your eyes. Transfer to your address can be arranged separately. Please note: this is wild nature, so there are no guarantees of sightings, and that is part of its magic. But on a small private boat you can reach distant ocean waters that a large boat cannot, so your chance of seeing whales is higher on a small private boat.

Sea and Deep-Sea Fishing
Key route locations:
- Private boat
- Chance to see whales and dolphins
- Open ocean
- Deep-Sea Fishing
Sea fishing in Mirissa is a few hours of pure excitement in the open Indian Ocean. Early in the morning the boat leaves the jetty gently, and after a short ride you are already fishing at promising spots that the captain chooses based on currents and weather. Almost anything can bite: sailfish, yellowfin tuna, powerful trevally, cunning grouper and sly barracuda. What you catch depends on the season and luck. From November to April the ocean adds a show of whales and dolphins. We watch them from a respectful distance, knowing that nature does not guarantee sightings.
The tour lasts 3–4 hours and moves at a calm, comfortable pace. Fishing gear and all equipment are already on board, an experienced crew is at the helm, and lunch is included. You return to port with salt spray on your skin, photos of your catch and that lingering feeling of the ocean still humming in your head.

Key route locations:
- Yacht cruise
- Snorkelling
- Paddleboarding
- Chance to see whales and dolphins
Overnight yacht cruise is a rare chance to spend the evening and night in the heart of the Indian Ocean, away from crowds and shore lights. At 16:00 you are welcomed at Mirissa Harbour with a drink and a short safety briefing, and within minutes there is nothing around you but turquoise water and the horizon. Along the route, the captain sails to areas where whales and dolphins often pass. We observe them from a respectful distance, knowing that wild nature offers no guarantees. The morning starts with the first light and a fresh coffee on deck. After breakfast, stop for a swim in crystal-clear water and snorkel at the reefs with the masks, snorkels and fins provided on board. If you like, the crew can arrange paddleboarding and sea fishing: a slow paddle over calm water, or the thrill of landing a catch. The choice is yours.

Swimming with Whales
Key route locations:
- Heading out into the open ocean
- Chance to see whales and dolphins
- Safety briefing
- Chance to swim with whales and dolphins
Snorkelling with whales in Sri Lanka is more than a tour. It is a real immersion in the world of ocean giants, who impress with their size and grace.
The tour starts early in the morning. You are met by a team of professional instructors who give a detailed briefing. You learn about whale behaviour, how to behave around them and which rules to follow so that the observation is safe for both guests and the animals.
After preparation, the group heads out to the ocean on a specially equipped vessel. The boats are comfortable. An experienced captain and an instructor are always on board. They know the routes whales travel and can spot the signs of their arrival.
The most exciting moment comes when the boat reaches the waters where whales are often seen. The guide gives the signal, and everyone, wearing life jackets, with masks and snorkels, slips into the water. Your heart stops for a moment. Around you is endless depth, and then a huge shadow appears out of the blue. Slowly it becomes the silhouette of a whale, graceful, majestic and completely free.
You can watch the whales glide slowly, rise to the surface for air or play with each other. All of this happens at a safe distance, without disturbing their natural life.

Diving in Sri Lanka
Key route locations:
- Briefing
- Training dive
- Deep dive
Sri Lanka is a true paradise for anyone who dreams of looking beneath the surface of the Indian Ocean. Clear water is home to turtles, rays, moray eels, reef sharks and dozens of bright tropical species, a living kaleidoscope of reef flora and fauna. Diving suits every level. Before you go in, there is a short theory session, a safety briefing and careful gear fitting. Then you dive with an instructor: up to 6 m for beginners and up to 12 m for more experienced divers.
Each location has its own character. Unawatuna offers a mix of coral gardens, small caves and old shipwrecks. Off the coast of Mirissa, your chances of meeting reef sharks and large ocean animals are higher. Hikkaduwa is known for its living coral fields and lively shoals of colorful fish. Wherever you dive, the ocean here is open and welcoming. Just take a breath, slip into the blue and let yourself be amazed.

Swimming with turtles
Key route locations:
- Hikkaduwa Beach
- Swimming with Turtles
Sri Lanka is one of the best places on the planet to swim alongside sea turtles in their natural habitat. Clear water, gentle currents and nearby reefs make for a calm, almost meditative experience, from your first kicks of the fins to the moment a turtle rises for a breath of air. There are no guarantees, as this is wildlife, but your chances are high in the right locations and at the right time.
Hikkaduwa (Turtle Beach). On the left edge of the beach, turtles come very close to shore to feed on seaweed. It is easy to get there, and early mornings help you avoid crowds. Volunteers often patrol the beach to make sure visitors behave responsibly. On maps, this spot is marked as Turtle Beach.
Mirissa. Look for turtles at the far end of the beach, near Coconut Tree Hill. The water here is crystal clear, the swell is gentle and there are fewer people, so the experience feels more intimate and natural. Be sure to bring a mask and snorkel: you will see more and can stay longer in calm observation.

We got back yesterday from a two-day tour with an overnight stay at Elephant Bay hotel and a climb of Sigiriya (choose this rock for the climb). It was AMAZING!!!! The best tour ever!!! Our guide Denis (Dinesh) was simply brilliant. He kept us laughing the whole way, told us the history of Sri Lanka, answered all our questions, shared lots of interesting facts and helped with photos and videos! All the stops on the tour were chosen very well, and everything felt warm and personal. A special thank you to our driver Shalinda, who got us there safely and with a bit of speed! Memories for a year ahead, maybe for a lifetime! Over these two days it felt like we had travelled for a week through different countries, with different climates, nature and architecture, all in one place on a small island, Sri Lanka.

We loved the “Heart of Sri Lanka” tour! It was a beautifully organised trip. We saw an incredible number of sights and felt the atmosphere of an amazing country. A special thank you for helping us with the main event of this trip: a proposal on top of Sigiriya! Help choosing the perfect moment and place among one of the wonders of the world made this day truly unforgettable. A separate highlight was the night at Mountain Heavens hotel. Waking up, stepping onto the balcony and seeing elephants walking by was wonderful! The main thing that made the trip perfect was our guide Yasir, the soul of the trip :) He described every sight with great charm, knew the best angles for photos and anticipated our wishes in advance. His care, attentiveness and great sense of humour created a truly friendly and comfortable atmosphere. We felt completely safe and as if we were travelling with an old friend. Thank you to Yasir and the whole team! We will definitely recommend you to our friends!

We're sharing our impressions on the way home from a wonderful two-day “Heart of the Island of Sri Lanka” tour! Other reviews have already said everything good about the tour itself, so we'd like to describe the impressions we got thanks to our guide Yasir and our driver Usama. A few words about the road: the car was comfortable and new, and the air conditioning saved us the whole way. Despite the winding mountain roads, the driver followed all the traffic rules like a European driver. But of course, a special thank you goes to Yasir. He helped us with every little question along the way. He is very caring and attentive. When someone tried to sell us something expensive, he took us to another place where the same thing was sold for less. At the tea factory, during the tasting, they wanted to give us only one type of tea. Yasir stood up for us, and in the end we were given all the varieties. On the way, he showed us many inexpensive places where we could get tasty food and fruit. Yasir also turned out to be a very interesting person. For two days we chatted with him about the culture of his country and compared it with ours. He is deeply knowledgeable and speaks several languages. He even gets our memes :) To our surprise, Yasir varied our programme. Towards the end of the second day we had time to visit a village, where we were shown traditional customs and lifestyle, served traditional food and sweets, and let us crack a coconut 🥥 And it would be a sin not to mention that Yasir is a professional photographer. In fact, the photos you see in this message are his. We are now approaching our villa to rest after such an intense and emotional programme. Many thanks to the organisers, Yasir, Usama and the local people of Sri Lanka!
